She sparkles and shines ... she comes straight from the sea - an
imaginative mermaid original (so new that Annie is still completing
her!). Featuring a cloth body and small beaded face, she shines
with beautiful fibers and trims. Join Annie in creating her newest
pattern with a beaded face that can double as a wearable pin. Learn
wonderful beading techniques and how to use new fabrics and fibers
in your work.
This is a one and a half day workshop. Commencing in the afternoon
on Thursday 18th so that
you can go home with a finished doll.

Please join us for a wonderful two days creating a unique beaded
figure with doll artist, Anne Mayer Hesse. On day one, we
will bead the face for our very individual dolls. You may not finish
the face in class and will need to work on it that evening to have
it finished for the next day's work.
Day 2 will focus on assembling the body parts, dressing the
figure using draping and wrapping techniques, adding the face and
hair and then embellishing the doll. It will be an intense 2 days
but hopefully, very fulfilling for your creative spirit!
Students will learn bead embroidery for the face and/or other embellishments;
how to take a simple pattern and create a complex looking figure;
unique techniques for dressing a figure;
Annie's wonderful wild hair structure; and many other off the cuff
tips. Annie will also show you how to make a brooch from a beaded
face. Each person will go home with a totally one of a kind art
doll and it will amaze you to see the vast differences in the dolls
from others in the class. Be sure to bring a camera to photo the
class collection!
There is pre-class work in sewing the body parts.
